When we say that the bottom engine is modest, we’re being polite when we suggest that it’s underpowered for all but a daily driver and a light load. We all agree that Toyota’s V6 engine is the best option for Tacoma’s increased obligations and for rescuing it from the street. Sadly, for daily driving, the automated transmission appears heavy-handed, and the manual transmission option is our recommendation for vans that may be traveling more than a few hundred miles at a time.

With a starting MSRP of $26,050 for the SR short-bed entry taxi design in the United States, this Tacoma is one of the more expensive mid-size pickups on the market. When it comes to spending money, though, you have a wide range of possibilities. The SR5 costs $27,825, while a mid-range TRD Sport costs $32,725. For those who want a little more, you’ll have to go up a trim level.
The $34,000 TRD Off-Road can pique your interest if off-roading is your thing. The well-equipped Confined trim costs $38,790, while the TRD Pro requires a substantial $43,960 investment at a guide price. A four-wheel drive can add $3,000 to a monthly bill, excluding the TRD Pro, which comes standard with a four-wheel drive. Prices of the Toyota Tacoma do not include taxes, licensing, or registration fees.
